Once you have determined that your computer is infected with spyware, you will want to remove it right away. There are several ways to perform spyware removal from your computer. The method you choose is primarily based on your technical expertise and your comfort level.

Some very technically savvy computer users perform spyware removal manually and clean up its trail on their computer including any registry entries made. This can be very time consuming and quite tedious, even for highly skilled computer users.

Another method of spyware removal is to browse the several quality forums (discussion boards) that exist for the purpose of helping others remove malicious software from their computers. Some technical comfort is needed when using this method, but the people on the forum helping others are quite good at walking you through the necessary steps for spyware removal. This is a great method if you are a hands-on type of person. A simple search on Google for “spyware removal forum” will help you find these forums.

But, for most computer users, using an automated spyware removal tool is recommended. Many good spyware removal tools exist for you to choose. Some are free while others will cost you. Typically the cliche, “you get what you pay for” applies, but many would argue that there are some very good free tools on the market. These software tools will scan your system and find any known spyware programs that exist on your computer. You are then allowed to choose which spyware programs you want removed. After removing these, you then have the option to ‘quarantine’ your system so that your computer will not become infected again by any known spyware programs. It is recommended that you run the removal tool on a regular basis to keep your computer clean.

Having your computer become infected with spyware can be a real hassle. But, there are several methods by which you can clean up the trash and keep your computer running clean. You should evaluate each method and choose the one that suits your style. Although, the best way may be to combine all three methods for optimum performance and keep your computer as clean as possible.
